Shamanism
Shamanism is the oldest form of healing. Shamanism is the experience of many generations in the past with the healing power of nature, the elements of earth, water, fire and air, of plants, animals and stones for the welfare of all human beings.
Shamanism has arisen from the experience that an illness is always a disharmony between human beings, nature and the cosmos. The shaman is helping with his knowledge and wisdom to reinstall balance. Shamanism has been acknowledged by the World Human Organisation (WHO) in 1980 to care about psychosomatic diseases to support the medicine of the West.
Because of many great results of healing, more and more professional doctors and healers are interested in shamanism and are integrating its wisdom in their profession.
The origin of the word shamanism comes from the Siberian language and means “to work with ardency and fire”. From symbolic point of view this means that somebody changes energy into matter. Fire for example is not only potency but also energy. For Siberian shamans fire is the greatest power of transformation. And as shamans also have got the power to transform, this term was created.
In the shaman concept everything has its place: the physical world and the non-physical world, the laws of the planet and the cosmic laws.
In the shaman view of the world one should act to the assumption, that all is living and animated. The existence of human beings is only one of lots of existences in the world. In all creation there is creativity, the ode, the inner circle of life. Therefore every existence, whether as an animal, as a plant, as a stone and so on …. one has to treat with respect. Because the inner spirit of life is the same in everything and everywhere all is intertwined with everything.
For shamans the space between human beings or things and also the empty space inside a thing, is not a transparent nothingness. Space is something significant and has just like material things specific attributes and characteristics. We know that material is not solid, but exists of atoms which are not compressed compound either, but exist of electrons that circulate around the atomic nucleus.
The space in the inner circle and in between has to be explored. Through a knowing of this space shamans are able to see, feel or sense things which is not possible for others. They are able to experience an amplification of the awareness of non-physical worlds and dimensions.
A shaman is a person who wanders between the worlds. There are worlds that are in coexistence with our world, although they are hidden for our normal senses. Like the material world has various appearances (human beings, animals, plants, minerals) there are other universes that have multi-plane forms of energy. Shamans are able to expand their awareness in order to reach out into these worlds, which enables them to receive inspiration, knowledge and wisdom for making effective diagnoses for healing.
